Towards the end, Michel started talking of martyr death and obliged not to eat. This resulted to her death on July 1, 1976 at the age of 23. Upon diagnosis by medical experts, the cause was extreme starvation and dehydration throughout the course of 67 exorcisms. Having died after these exorcisms, priests declared she's finally free from the demons possessing her.
