A social experiment was conducted to test how one would react when a black guy and a white guyasked for help.
As can be seen in the video, a girl was approached by two (2) guys separately. The first was a black guy while the second was a white guy.
The black guy tried to sit beside the girl but the girl, at an instant, tried to distance herself away from him. Despite this, the black guy attempted to ask the girl if she could spare him some change so as to let him pay for a bus ride. However, the girl refused to give him any, alleging that she did not have any change to spare.
Later, a white guy sat beside the girl and did the same thing as the black guy did. Unlike what she did when the black guy sat beside her, the girl did not move away from the white guy. The white guy then asked for directions and how much it would cost to ride the bus. After doing so, he then proceeded to ask the girl to spare him some change. The girl did not even hesitate to give him some.
The video shows how racism remains to be a social issue, and how it still exists despite the recent trends against it. The fight against racism thus proves to be far from over. As long as racism exists, equality amid diversity would remain a dream.
