A bestfriend is a person whom you can rely on no matter what. The following is a touching story between two kids who are bestfriends with each other.
Vincent Butterfield is a 1st grader who is bestfriends with Zach, who is suffering from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Despite being diagnosed with the aforesaid illness, Zach always made it a point to attend his classes and has always continued to be a diligent student. This he had done because he was worried that Vincent might be worried trying to wait for him.
For Vincent's part, when he realized that the treatment for Zach's illness would cost a lot of money, he decided to spearhead a fund-raising drive so as to help finance the Zach's treatment procedures. The said fund-raising drive involved the making and selling of scarves. Because of this, Vincent was able to raise a few hundred dollars. He later on gave them to Zach.
When Vincent learned that Zach would be losing his hair soon, Vincent did not hesitate to have his own hair shaved so as not to alienate Zach and make him feel lonely once he starts to lose all of his hair. Everybody was moved with Vincent's act of selflessness towards Zach.
Vincent has taught us a valuable lesson on friendship and loyalty, and how a blessing it is to have a bestfriend to lean on especially through the darkest times of our life.
